A rampant Arsenal, brushed off the fact that they had lost their title to cross London rivals Chelsea, thrashed Everton 7-0 in what can truly be called a one-sided game on Wednesday night. 36 year old Dennis Bergkamp was the architect of this massive win for the Gunners, which was the biggest win all season in the Premiership, took the Gunners’ goal tally to 86 in the League so far, and means they have scored 14 times in three meetings against the Toffees this season. It was Arsenal biggest margin of victory under Arsene Wenger, and best win in the Premiership era. And this against a team that has had their best season in a very longtime, finished fourth in the League and qualified for the Champions League (although they do have to win a qualification round before next season if they want to make it to the final 32) for the first time in their history. The goals were scored by Robin Van Persir, Robert Pires (2), Patrick Vieira, Edu, Mathieu Flamini & Bergkamp himself, reciveing a huge ovation from the Highbury crowd. This strokes the talk between Arsenal & Bergkamp for a one year extention to his contract. If itt goes through then Dennis will surely retire after another attempt at the EPL title & the Champions League.

Dutch star Andy van der Meyde's agent has revealed that his client is keen on moving to Everton in the summer. The Blue part of the city of Liverpool have become an attractive move for the Inter Milan winger having secured Champions League football for next season. Middlesboro are another English club that have expressed interest in signing the former Ajax player.



There are those who believe Jarome Iginla represents the “changing face” of hockey’s future. The NHL’s first black goal-scoring champion gets the job done the old-fashioned way, playing end-to-end hockey and taking crap from no one. Jarome cleaned up at the NHL’s 2002 Awards show, taking the Lester B. Pearson Award (MVP as selected by the NHLPA), the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy (most goals), and the Art Ross Trophy (points leader.) Jarome Iginla was born on July 1 (Canada Day), 1977 in Edmonton, Alberta to a Nigerian father & an American born mother. Jarome’s favorite player was Grant Fuhr, the goalie of his hometown team The Edmonton Oilers during their best run in the NHL winning 4 Stanley Cups. Jarome says he was drawn to Fuhr because of their shared African heritage, but adds that race never seemed much of an issue growing up in St. Albert. He played his junior years with the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL. He was part of the Gold medal winning team Canada at the 2002 Winter Olmpics, joint top scorer in the 2003-2004 NHL season.



This Wednesday I went to see an aquaintance - well he is the cousin of a friend of mine who owns a restaurant in Edapally. Ironically we meet not at his restaurant but at another one two stops away, at my current fav bar in Edapally. I order my usual deep frien beef finger (as they call it) had a beer & a rum+coke (again my usual drink). He had a beer, two vodka+cokes & demolished a plate of really delicious looking deep fried chicken. We went to talk about a proposal he had for a business venture which he had almost all the financing for setup. He wanted some reliable guys to run the business & he wanted me & my friend (his cousin) to be able to handle the entire operation. I wasn't really sure about this, I mean he seems a standup guy and I have heard only good things about him. But I didn't know him all that well & really just went along as he was my buddy's cousin. I have to speak it with my friend and then speak to a couple of other people about this and finally consult my dad as well. I didn't want to eat much since me & my cousin Shalini were treating our parents to a small dinner. We shared the cost of the meal which was fried rice, chilli gobi, chilli chicken & small cups of ice cream.
