Deep Purple's new album "Bananas" is an ok album, not having heard it more than once I can't really say for sure how good it is. On first listening, it does not sound as good as their earlier stuff. I am a huge fan of their 1996 album "Perpendicular" and I am an advocate of the fact that Steve Morse's guitar playing can kick the stuffing out of Richie Blackmoore during a bad day! Face it metaheads, Purple are much happier without that egomaniac know as Blackmoore. He almost killed the great rock giant we love. Steve Morse is an amiable gent, plays his guitar like there is no tomorrow, but some idiots in India had t-shirts that protested his joining the rock icons when they came to perform here in 1996 as well as as more recently. That sucks.
