What weather we are having! Well atleast it's not so fucking hot & humid that your sheets stick to you like a passionate lover! It's so dark outside, you can't tell that it's actually just past noon. And
the rain is welcome from the humidity. All I ask is that it rain, heavily if it wants to, either at night or if it's during the day time, only while I am at the office. Is that too much to ask?

In South American World Cup qualifying matches, Brazil were beaten by Argentina in Beunos Aires 3-1. Hernan Crespo started things off in the 4h minute when he connected a cross from Juan Riquelme, who in turn got on the scoresheet later in the half. In the 39th minute Crespo again scored for his 7th overall of the campaign. Left back Roberto Carlos got Brazil's consolation goal. With this win Argentina have gaurenteed themselves a place in next year's World Cup to be held in Germany and now lead the South American group by 4 points. Brazil is in second place. Holland underlined their credentials at the top of Uefa World Cup Qualifying Group One by thumping Finland 4-0 away. Substitute Robin van Persie set up goals for Dirk Kujit and Philip Cocu and netted one himself after Ruud van Nistelrooy had opened the scoring in the first-half. But it is still very tight at the top: The Netherlands are one point ahead of the Czech Republic, who hammered Macedonia 6-1, Jan Koller scoring four more goals, and Milan Baros and Tomas Rosicky also getting on the scoresheet. Romania maintained the pressure on the top two with a solid 3-0 defeat of Armenia, Gigel Bucur scoring twice on his debut to help his country stay third, six points behind the Dutch. In Group Two, Ukraine stunned European champions Greece with a late second-half goal against the run of play in Athens to home in on a first-ever World Cup spot. Ukraine need just one win from their remaining three matches to secure qualification for their first major tournament. In Asian qualifying news, South Korea sealed their spot in Germany by beating Kuwait 4-0 away & Iran joined them by beating Baharain 1-0.

Tranfer news: The promising Greek U-23 international striker of Heerenveen, Giannis Samaras, has signed a contract with Arsenal, but he will not play for the Gunners until the end of the season as he will stay for another year with the Dutch club. AS Roma signed on Ghanian defender Samuel Kufour on a free transfer from Bayern Munich. While they played their hearts out for their country, it doesn't mean that their club career moves are totally silent. It has been announced that Crespo will remain at AC Milan for another year while his Argentine national teamate Riquelme wants a move to Atletico Madrid which is to be coached by fellow compatriot Carlos Bianchi.

Song for the day - "Jane" - BARENAKED LADIES

The thirst of Cochin is finally being quenched by some wonderful rain that refused to let up for a couple of days. It rained last night as well, but yesterday afternoon was humid. It's the same right now, although the morning was so peaceful & lazy that I went to my room at 10:30/10:45 and went to sleep till almost 12:30. Listening to some flamenco guitar only helped the mood.

My cousin Suraj dropped a bomb (atleast that's what he thinks & most of my relatives are acting like it is) a few days ago, when he said that he wants to marry a girl from his office, who is a Christian. I know some of my relatives are going to act like it is a crime, but for an Atheist like me - who the fuck cares who you chose to spend your life with. Because it is him, he is going to defend his decision and there will be some hot words passed around. If I were in the same predictment, I would to. Underneath the show of religious differences, we all have to shit & pee! Makes no difference if you go to a church, mosque, gurudhwara, temple or synagogue after that.

Anyway, I was online most of the afternoon and evening yesterday, as I usually am. This is one habit that does not require much money. Around 8:15 I was walking back home when Suraj came in his car. He, my dad & I went to the Suburban Club for some dinner & beers (my dad had a couple of his usual whisky). But it was a hot & humid night which kinda ruined the atmosphere. Plus Suraj wanted to talk about this affair that he has going on and his impending marriage and he was getting a bit heated up (or was that just the weather).
