Asha finally had to move, not to Calicut, but to our Thrissur office. It broke my heart to see her go. And though she told me that I should not cry or be sad when she leaves - that's easier said than done. I went, sat next to Deepa and no sooner did she ask me "are you ok?" then the tears came rushing outta my eyes.

A write up about Patrice Bergeron, young rookie for the Boston Bruins. Despite not being able to sharpen his skills currently due the NHL lockout (I recently saw a clip about that on ESPN; made me feel sick), he remains one of the great success stories of the 2003-04 NHL season. The youngest player in the League, Bergeron turned 18 just two months before Boston's training camp opened, a camp he entered as an afterthought. He was a favourite to win the Calder Trophy, awareded to the NHL's best rookie, which eventually went to his teammate, Bruins goalie Andrew Raycroft.

After featuring a young star in the making it's now the turn of a veteran - Dutch football midfielder Philip Cocu. Cocu has been a favourite player of mine since the 1998 World Cup in France, where he was the only player in recent memory to play in 3 different positions in different matchs. He played left back, sriker & his usual defensive midfielder during that tournament and was one of the unsung heroes of the World Cup. This weekend he scored a goal for his national team in the 2-0 victory over Romania. The Dutch lead their group for the World Cup qualifiers.

One of the cruelest things (possibily the only cruel thing she has done in her entire life) that Sarah McLachlan has done is to make her fans wait for 6 whole years between studio albums. Was she aware that we had to endure several wannabes during that abscence? Or that hundreds of pop singers (with less than 1/6th Sarah's talent) were ruling the music charts and hogging the music channels on tv ?

Song for the day - "I Will Remember You" - SARAH MCLACHLAN
