Last night I watched Trapped on HBO. I had not heard of this movie at all before & it wasn't something that was promoted on ads in the channel (atleast to my knowledge). Check out the cast : Kevin Bacon, Charlize Theron, Courtney Love, Stuart Townsend & little precious Dakota Fanning. Dakota is ofcourse any Hollywood movie lover's sweetheart, can you really be sane and not be deliriously head over heels in love with her? I mean at her age she acts way better than most veterans do! And Kevin Bacon is one of my favourite actors of all time. Though I don't think he makes a convincing enough villan (one often remebers his Footloose days) he is still a brilliant actor. The movie is about three kidnappers; Bacon, his cousin who is a simpleton & his wife played by yucky COurtney Love. The three of them kidnap kids from rich parents and demand huge ransoms for their safe return. I have never liked Courtney Love till now and I think I still don't like her one bit more. Stuart Townsend, I know not much about this actor but I think he was competent enough in his role. The one who plays the cousin is one I know nothing about.

Throughout his career, Mike Peca has played a big game in terms of leadership, heart, tenacity, and a willingness to use his body. He started his solid junior career with the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL where he played for two seasons before joining the Ottawa 67's in 1992. In the nation's capital, Peca turned his game up to the top levels, scoring 113 points in only 55 games. His scoring prowess and feisty play won him a four-game stint with the Vancouver Canucks, who had secured his rights at the 1992 NHL Entry Draft after he was taken 40th overall. A member of Canada's gold medal World Junior team in 1994, Peca returned for 38 more games in 1994-95 before Vancouver management succumbed to a desire to pry Alexander Mogilny away from the Sabres. To do so they had to give up on Peca before they'd determined exactly what they had. The Sabres soon found out what they got. In Peca they secured a hard-working team leader who excelled at defensive play, special teams, and scoring short-handed goals. In 1997, he won the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the league's top defensive forward. By 1998, Peca was appointed as the Sabres' team captain, and led the Sabres to the Stanley Cup final in 1999 before losing out to the Dallas Stars. After sitting out the entire 2000-01 season, due to a contract dispute with Sabres management, Peca was finally traded to the New York Islanders in the summer of 2001. Prior to joining the Islanders, Peca captained Canada's World Championship team at the 2001 World Championships in Germany and in his first season with the Isles, led them to their first playoff appearance since the 1994-95 season. Although the Islanders lost in the first round to the Toronto Maple Leafs in a hard hitting seven game series, Peca's performance throughout the regular season did not go without reward, as he captured his second Frank J. Selke Trophy. After missing the early part of the 2002-03 season recovering from knee surgery, Peca still managed to compile 42 points and continues to leader on the ice for the Isles.
Robinho's proposed transfer from Santos to Real Madrid has hit a snag after the Brazilian Football Confederation said it would not allow the move to go ahead. Reports suggested on Thirsday that Madrid had agreed to pay 60 per cent, or $30million, of the player's buy-out clause to the club, while the player and his agent had agreed to waiver the 40 per cent that they would have received. But the CBF have announced that as Robinho's contract is being broken without Santos' consent then Madrid would have to pay the Brazilian club the full $50million as stipulated in his contract.
Meanwhile rumours are building about Nicholas Anelka's imminent transfer from Turkis club Fenerbahce to Newcastle United. Sources in Turkey report the intriguing news that Anelka hasn’t begun training with the Fenerbahce squad yet, even though the League’s new season starts at the beginning of August. Anelka is citing an ongoing injury as the cause. However, with the interest of Newcastle, many Fener fans are worried this is a sign that the striker is packing his bags.
